Toastmaster of the Day Douglas Van Camp
The Toastmaster is responsible for facilitating the section of the meeting dedicated to prepared speeches. He or she introduces the meeting theme (if applicable) as well as the Ah Counter, Grammarian, and Timer roles.
Prepared Speeches
Speaker 1 Douglas Van Camp
Speaker 2 Open
Delivers a prepared speech; returns control back over to the Toastmaster. The Toastmaster asks the timer to measure one minute to allow members and guests to send feedback to the speaker.
Extemporaneous Speeches
Topics Master Sally Boyd, DTM
Invites a series attendees to deliver 1-2 minute impromptu speeches; turns meeting over to General Evaluator.
Evaluation
General Evaluator Open
Calls upon the evaluators for each of the prepared speeches to deliver his or her evaluation.
Evaluator 1 Open
Evaluator 2 Open
Speech Evaluators provide evaluation of a speaker's prepared speech before returning control of the meeting to the General Evaluator.
Ah Counter Open
Reports upon the use of filler words -- such as uh and um -- as well as double clutch words and phrases.
Timer Sally Boyd, DTM
Reports upon the time elapsed during each prepared speech, table topic, and evaluation.
Grammarian Open
Monitors usage of the Word-of-the-Day and reports upon both skillful and imprecise uses of the English language.
